I’ve spent the best part of today looking for Amazon Prime Day deals and one of the many deals that caught my eye is on one of my favorite vacuum cleaners of all times; the Dyson Outsize.
I landed on it whilst searching for Amazon Prime Day vacuum deals, after typing in ‘Dyson’. Like or loathe the brand; Dyson undeniably design and engineer some of the best vacuum cleaners in the world, although I appreciate that the price tag that many Dyson vacuums carry are often way out of most of our budgets.
This is why Prime Day is so awesome; it puts brands such as Dyson more within reach of our budgets.
I’ve owned the Dyson Outsize for a few years and have been impressed by it’s consistent suction power, incredibly decent 0.5 gallon bin capacity and true-to-spec 60 minute runtime on a single battery.
When I first tried it out in 2020 I must say that I wasn’t expecting too much from it because I am pretty difficult to please when it comes to rating vacuum cleaners. I am often disappointed by the runtime – so many cordless vacuums fail to make it past the 30-minute mark. The size of the dust canister can also be frustratingly small on cordless vacuum cleaners so I find myself stopping a vacuum clean half way through the job to empty it.
Yet after a standard first clean of my 3-bed house, my opinion was to be swayed. We have hard floors downstairs, and carpets upstairs. Whilst the Dyson Outsize Total Clean comes with 11 engineered accessories that includes a low-reach adapter, light pipe crevice tool, 2-in-1 brush tool, hair screw tool, spare battery and wall dock, it’s the Digital Motorbar XL cleaner head which continues to impress me.
The cleaner head is 25% larger than the High Torque cleaner head, meaning that it’ll cover more of the floor surface a whole lot quicker. It will also intelligently optimize suction and runtime based on the floor type, and detangle as you clean to avoid any hair getting trapped around the brushbar.
What happens to everything that you suction up from the floor? It goes into the 0.5 gallon bin which is 150% bigger bin than the Dyson V15 Detect, making for longer cleans between emptying. It is also (maybe) one of the largest bins I have seen during my career of reviewing vacuum cleaners which acts as a good benchmark when trying it out against it’s competitors.
During Amazon Prime Day the Dyson Outsize Total Clean Cordless Vacuum Cleaner is down to $559.99 from $799.99 on Amazon, which is a huge saving of $250. It’s a Prime Exclusive deal meaning that you won’t find it anywhere else, and I’ve not seen it down to this price before either so you know you’re getting a good deal.
